Obituary for Stephen Vajda

Stephen Vajda
Stephen Vajda (Pap), 77, of Middletown entered into eternal rest on, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was born on January 29, 1940 in Steelton and was the son of the late, Steven and Theresa (Gubic) Vajda.
Steve was a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Middletown. Stephen was retired from the former Bethlehem Steel Mill, where he was a Steelworker.
He enjoyed watching sports, especially Phillies Baseball and going on summer vacation with his family. Steve also enjoyed being outside and sitting on his swing feeding the birds and squirrels. But most of all, he enjoyed making people laugh.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen Vajda, in 2013.
He is survived by his loving children, Stephen J. Vajda and his wife Monica of Harrisburg, Leann T. Vajda of Middletown, and Jennifer M. Houser and her husband Todd of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Megin, Todd (TJ), Devin, Mackenzie, and Erin and two brothers, Joseph Vajda (Joe) and James Vajda (Jim).
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 280 N. Race St. Middletown with the Rev. Ted Keating as celebrant.
Viewings will be held on Tuesday January 9, 2018 from 7:00PM-9:00PM at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 260 E. Main St., Middletown and from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass on Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg.
